Sirius Satellite Radio Options From Xact

You can now get Sirius satellite radio using an Xact satellite radio receiver. Xact features the ultra compact Visor receiver and the Replay model for use with the Sirius network.

Xact Visor

The visor is an Xact Sirius satellite radio that is designed to be compact, but accessible. It has a single line display that shows 16 characters of information. The radio has a knob on the side for tuning (aka changing channels). Because this is one of the smallest of the Xact satellite radios, it has a variety of mounting options, including on the visor in your car. Other options include a window suction cup mount, and an adhesive mount for the dashboard.

The power is supplied to the unit via a car accessory power cable. The tuning knob is very accessible, but just in case of safety or other concerns, the unit comes with a remote control. This Xact Communication Sirius satellite radio system uses an FM transmitter to send high quality satellite sound directly to your car’s FM radio. No extra wires are needed to hook up the unit. The unit comes with everything needed for in-car use, including an antenna.

The only real drawbacks of this Xact satellite are the display and the memory. Since most expect a four or five line display from an Xact Sirius satellite radio, expect to feel somewhat limited from the Visor’s single line. Also unlike most Xact satellite radios, the Visor does not have a song memory feature that alerts you when your favorite selections are playing. So there is a tradeoff with getting the compact size of the Visor, but they are compensated by a low price and by the compact size of this Xact Communication Sirius satellite radio system.

Xact Replay

The Replay is a full featured Xact satellite radio. It offers all the convenience of a 30 channel memory and Sirius-Seek alerts that let you know when up to 30 of your favorite songs are playing. This Xact Sirius satellite radio also features a replay capacity of 44 minutes. This means that you can pause, rewind, and then replay the broadcast you are listening to. That’s right: you no longer have to fear what you might miss out when you leave the car!

Like all Xact satellite radios, the replay comes with an assortment of mounting options. It features an FM transmitter that sends the Sirius programming to your car’s radio, so you don’t have to have any extra wires besides the power cord.
